This weekend I got a wolf t-shirt and......

Last night I got to spend some time in Landa Park. This is located in the lovely town of New Braunfels, Tx, that I had the great privilege of basically growing up in. Unfortunately because of the flood that we had last summer it is undergoing some remodeling, which has included getting rid of my favorite bridge that was the location of me taking prom pics and senior pics and just having memories there.
Besides that i had sometime to sit and to think and have a quite time. I was brought back to a verse in Numbers that talks about that "At the command of the Lord they camped and at the command of the Lord they went out...." So it made me reflect on my life and how I continually eager to just run and live life, but the Lord needs me to wait sometimes and to stay where I am. And sometimes when we stay and listen
to what he has He will bless our socks off.
Basically, I am changing my major and in continually praying for the Lord to close doors if it is not where I am supposed to be he has just blown some completely open! So, on Monday instead of being a Biology major I am going to switch to...................................Camp and Sport Ministry!
Completely random I know but it is a brand new degree offered by DBU and honestly I have been praying for this for MONTHS! It is insane how I have just been praying that the Lord will show me where I am supposed to be and he fulfilled it!

Post Script: This is Mark and Scheel. Last weekend the got ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited for them and blessed by their friendship. Cannot wait to see what the Lord has in-store for them!!!

pistachio- mustachio.

So heres the deal. I am sorry that for my 3 followers that I have not updated in like a week but I am working so that it will not happen again! The upcoming end of the spring semester is quickly approaching and I am personally freaking out. But I am so thankful that I have a little more down time this week to do things like clean and to find my mustache tattoos!!!! (Oh! and watching Footloose.... on of my fav. movies!)

Anyways as the semester comes to a close I am completely reminded of the faithfulness that the Lord has. I keep having to remind myself that this week is the passion week and about the miraculous events that happened so many years ago but are still alive today. Jesus willingly sacrificed his life for us and it continually blows my mind. I just cannot understand how he can love us so much.
Well, I hope you have a blessed week and enjoy your easter holiday with your families! I cannot wait to leave and drive home this weekend and see my family! I love you all and hope that you have a great night!

So go pull out an oldie but a goodie movie and clean you apartment!

Counting down the days

So heres the deal. I am so excited for summer that I can hardly contain myself! Like I just want to skip the next month and land myself back at camp running around setting up for theme days. By the way I am sooooo excited. Like I cannot believe that it is almost here again!
But more than anything I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for me. Little update on my new position this summer. So I was completely content with going back to sports camp this summer and being in a cabin with campers. But the Lord had a completely different plan for me. That plan is Day Camp leadership! The Lord definitely needed to take me out of my comfort zone to show me something better than what I could have planned. So anyways now my days are consumed with thoughts of mission impossible, noah's ark, and throwing a giant Birthday party...... basically I am sooo excited. and more than that I am thankful that the Lord wants to plan something out for our lives. Just so thankful that he loves us.

I have found a trust that teaches how to rest.
I have found a grace that guides me by the hand.
I have found a strength that stands like a mountain.
And I have found, I've found You!
You are all I want, You are all I need,
Everything my heart could hope for.
We are longing for, the Glory of the Lord,
Cause we know there's so much more!

Hermano en Christo.

This is Mike.... He is one of my Peruvian brothers and today is his Birthday. The Lord is doing so many things in Mike's life and has given him a beautiful gift of music. And we share a favorite color of purple.

Ephesians 3:20

How deep the Fathers Love

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

what, what, WEEKEND!!!!

Okay, so here is a random fact about me.
  • When I have something that I am passionate about I go at it full force.
  • when I get tired of school I begin wanting to go to one place.... camp.
I cannot wait for camp to start. Seriously had a great weekend learning about the role that I will play at camp this summer and loved every minute of it! We have a great team that is really going to work hard to do their best to make this summer the best ever! The Lord has truly blessed me with a great opportunity to work with day camp this summer. He has provided something that is far beyond what I thought and planned to do this summer and I am so thankful.
This morning I was reading my devotional "Jesus Calling" and I feel like it was really something that I needed to hear.
"In me you have everything.. In Me you are complete. Your capacity to experience Me is increasing, through My removal of debris and clutter from your heart. As your yearning for me increases, other desires are gradually lessening. Since I am infinite and abundantly accessible to you, desiring Me above all else is the best way to live."

I think that within the last few weeks my view of life has changed. The view of the way that I live and need to live my life has altered in soooo many ways. And I thank God for how he has taken things from me so that I may grow. He has caused me to look at my life and see that I am so in need of Him. He is taking away the desires I have to please man and to serve man with intentions of showing them the light of Christ and how he can take hold of our lives for the better.
I thank Him for breaking my heart in so many ways. I thank Him that he has caused me to change how I see the world and people in the world and to know that Christ came to save us. He came to save those who others look down upon. He is a God of love.

So needless to say it was a great weekend and I am so thankful for what the Lord is showing me and I can't wait for the summer so I can earn back this chaco tan!
